You......then me

This is something i wrote in my personal journal on April 7th 2011. I thank God for helping me with these issues i had.

(They sometimes come back from time to time)

April 7th 2011

::Thought 1:: "Lately I've noticed a lot of sloppy living. I personally do not want to waste my life living that way. The Lord has been showing me how i need to change(that's a constant thing) and take challenges face to face and not coward and hide. I'm calling out to my Jesus now cuz i need help with my problems. I am in need to call out to my savior at all times even when im happy or sad. For it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16 'Be cheerful no matter what, pray all the time, thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.' "

::Thought 2:: "I was just reading in 1 Peter 2:13 and it said 'It is God's will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think your a danger to society .' If we only lived our lives the way God wants us to live, we can actually fulfill this scripture! "

::Thought 3:: "I've been having this bad habit lately that i realized I've been getting upset that i never get to do what i want to do(kinda like a child). It bugs that people ask me what i want to do or where i want to eat and they always choose to do the opposite. So im not always enjoying myself(because im a selfish human being). I understand i cant always get my way but it gets old when its all the time. Again i need change and i need God to help me. Im falling apart and i know its a good thing. I need to go through these realizations or i would always be stuck in my sinful ways. In 1 Peter 4:1-2 says 'Since Jesus went through everything you're going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. Then you'll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want.' "

(I'm sharing this verse because it is one of Manda's favorites and we quoted it today in a song that Chelsea sang)

I know God is working in our lives right as we speak and I'm so thankful to be around people who want to grow and be more mature in there walk with Him! I love that Manda got baptized today.....it showed a lot about her character and how much Jesus is being evident in her life! Ben and Patricia(the ones who baptized her) are such a blessing! You wouldn't believe how much they love people! What a great example they are! It was a great surprise that Chelsea was there to sing worship! I never see her and it felt like a family reunion! I am sooooo blessed! These people are Jesus lovers and I pray as we grow we will continue to be around to hold each other accountable. I love you guys with all my heart!

My friend Amber and I hung out today and just kicked back. Our original plan was to go hiking but we both slept in and realized we just wanted to rest and talk. I think its the best to be with a great friend and just talk! And sipping on coffee of course :) 

P.S. I'm thinking way too much about traveling.....and being sad that I'm not able to do that this summer. Lord help me trust You in all things! Through You all things are possible!
